Gustave Dore Bible Illustrations

From the master of biblical illustrations, Gustave Doré, these 135+ year old wood engravings depict stories from the Old and New Testament – Noah’s Flood, The Tower of Babel, The Judgement of Solomon, and the life of Jesus Christ.

These were carefully removed from a heavily damaged copy of the Doré Bible Gallery published by The Fine Art Publishing Co., New York, 1880. Each print is accompanied by the original tissue guard imprinted in letterpress with a description of the artwork and the accompanying bible book and chapter.

The engravings in this series each measure approximately 12 x 9 inches (295 x 230 mm) with margins, and the image alone measures about 8.5 x 7″
